Since the early nineties the Netherlands is supporting the demining in Angola. The country is one of the hardest hit areas in the world and it will at least take till 2010, before all roads are demined. The Netherlands will continue to 2007 for sure, to support the demining program with a substantial amount of financial aid. The Netherlands thereby supports the work of four organisations in Angola namely; Halo Trust, Norwegians Peoples Aid (NPA), Mines Advisory Group (MAG) and Handicap International (HI). These four organisations are active in almost all provinces of the country. Their programs do not only pay attention to demining, but also to the treatment of mine victims and education to prevent mine accidents.
