Demining

Since the early nineties the Netherlands is supporting the demining in Angola. A lot of progress has been made in demining the country, but Angola is still one of the hardest hit areas in the world.

The Netherlands continues to support the demining program with a substantial amount of financial aid. The Netherlands thereby supports the work of three organisations in Angola: Norwegians Peoples Aid (NPA), Mines Advisory Group (MAG) and Handicap International (HI). These three organisations are active in almost all provinces of the country. Their programs do not only pay attention to demining, but also to the treatment of mine victims, education to prevent mine accidents and social and economical integration of victims.
